summer wardrobe planning - pt 2

Continuing today with my pictorial definition of my personal style...  Check out yesterday's post for more!

Which brings us to...swimwear, lingerie & nightwear?  I mean, if we're going to go "wardrobe", we'd better cover everything!

summer wardrobe planning - pt 1

I've been pondering a sewing plan for summer things.  Without a plan I tend to wander around all willy nilly and get practically nothing wearable accomplished.  Of course, with a plan I tend to wander around all willy nilly avoiding my plan (and sewing in general) out of spite.

I do love wardrobe planning, so at least there's the enjoyment of *making* the plan.  And I think the only wardrobe worth working on is your dream wardrobe.  Life's too short to do otherwise!

To begin, I know the types of garments I reach for every day, but what are the types of garments I wish I had in my closet? I turned to my Pinterest style board for help identifying the things I gravitate toward.  I'll be dividing the inspiration garments into two posts...I am inspired by a LOT of beautiful things, it would seem!

loverly underpinnings

I stumbled across the Etsy shop this morning and just have to share.

Ohhh Lulu features super sweet and feminine underthings.   The shop is full of adorableness, but the "sold" area has some pretty inspiration too.  Here are my favorites:

Cute cute cute:

Super ruffly panties, ack!

This would even be a cute swimsuit design:

 Love this romper:

Seriously, if I could figure out how to adapt all those cute ruffly things to be more suitable for Spanx, I'd have dolled up unmentionables in no time.  Hmmmm....

Hope you are all having a wonderful holiday weekend!

Pssst...Free Pattern, heads up!

There's a free pattern download from one of MY very favorite patternmakers, Colette Patterns:

Sorbetto from Colette Patterns

This is the Sorbetto tank pattern and you can read all about it and download your own copy over at the Grosgrain blog.  Looks like a great summer basic!

Have you been following along with Grosgrain's free pattern month?  I haven't been good about checking, since it's not a regular read of mine, but I did see a couple of things I'd like to try!

Green with Envy

You know what I seriously can't wait for??

Seriously, the previews of Amy Adams' wardrobe for this movie get better and better! (Ok, the previews are for the movie, but I keep stalking them for the CLOTHES).  Lovely yellow circle skirt and AH-mazing floral top:

Darling peachy dress with printed full skirt:

The bodice on this dress is just lovely:
Of course there will be singing.  And dancing.

A great kimono style wrap top, and I love the color combo!

This is actually a dress I think...and it is adorable.  LOVE the print.  So very 1940s-50s. (Hey, there's Janice!)

Couldn't get a great shot of this one, but the picture itself just cracks me up!

Reminds me of this:

Cute pj's:

But this. This is divine!

Dang I wish I could see the whole thing!  It's a bit reminiscent of the aqua seersucker dress I posted earlier this year (from the same movie set):

I even found (and won!) the perfect vintage pattern on ebay, so I can knock a couple of these off!

Geez, I really do love this guy.

Can't have a muppet post without this...
